Styles of Doormats

The doormat covers a range of functions that does not stop at welcoming guests. So if you already have a doormat that says, "Welcome," and offers to clean the soles of those about to enter, perhaps you need a doormat for a different purpose.

Personalized doormats

Think you're clever? Most of us do. Why not exhibit confidence in your own wit by displaying it at the foot of your door for all to see? Perhaps it says, "Back off" with a picture of Yosemite Sam, or displays a scantily clad female in repose. No, those are mud flaps. Doormats should provide wholesome, inoffensive material such as "Please Check Your Firearms," or "Wipe Here." The family name and a unique welcoming phrase are also common. Typically, these doormats are of the rubber variety, as stitching "Thompson" into a coco fiber mat isn't something they're interested in doing in Sri Lanka.

Anti-fatigue mats

Got a restaurant? Busy garage? A place where you end up standing a lot? As a business owner or do-it-yourselfer who stands much of the day on a hard surface, you will probably want to invest in an anti-fatigue mat. These can be the savior of your knees, ankles, and feet when placed in the right spot. For a chef, not in front of the fridge, but in front of your stainless steel work table. Mechanics will want them by a pneumatic lift where they can stand underneath whatever it is they're working on. These mats have the added benefit of being non-slip.

Commercial doormats

We've all seen them. Black, easily rolled up and replaced by one just like it. These door mats are typically very long to compensate for the fact that customers don't like to be inconvenienced by stamping their feet on a traditional doormat. At 6 feet in length and longer, merely walking across it jostles much of the foot grit that would otherwise be tracked indoors to be swept up later in the day.

Entrance mats

The entrance mat is a kind of commercial mat that serves as a more aesthetic, welcoming doormat. It is placed with its midpoint at the threshold to create a more welcoming effect and, of course, pick up some of that outdoor gravel so employees don't have to. They are offered in a variety of colors and shapes to suit your needs.
