This mat is made of thick but soft foam that you can feel give slightly underneath your foot as you step on it, and when I stepped on it barefooted, when I moved, I left an imprint of my foot! The imprint quickly disappeared, though, showing how resilient this mat is.
I got it for my mom who washes our family dishes every morning. She is elderly and has a few health issues that make standing hard for her, as well as tiring easily. She loves this mat and was very pleased with the way it feels under her feet.
I gave my dog her bath and stood on the mat and it is very comfortable. Better than that, my back didn't hurt when I was done as it often does! I don't know if it was the mat that helped or not, only time will tell me for sure.
I like the top surface of the mat, it is somewhat slickly finished with a low relief nobby texture. I think it will be very easy to clean.

Use this product in a household kitchen on a slab. Ordered two different sizes of this rug. They were bowed at the ends and wavy on the sides. cannot be used butted together since the edges won't meet. [...] the second came in the same way, except that the replacement rug was 3/4 in longer than the first one.They are soft on the feet, but if appearance counts don't buy them.
